I will be at the show again this year though I will be in a very different location to my "regular" spot. Please come and find me in Booth A21 - on the far West Wall of the Building. In the past when my booth "location" has been different, I have often heard customers say to me "I didn't think you were there this year" - but rest assured... I AM there - just keep an eye out for the sparkly moon and twinkle trees!

Recently, during the reorganization of the framing and storage area in my studio, I came across the motherlode of samples of my Christmas card designs from past years. Thinking that I had been painting new holiday images for a while, I thought there would be about 30 or so, but as I continued to find more and more - most of which I had completely forgotten about - I realized I had been creating Vancouver holiday images since 1995 and have done over 60 designs!
To celebrate this fact, I have decided to produce a "Vintage Assortment" for the 2021 Holiday Season - featuring cards going way back to the very first Holiday Images I printed. Each assortment will be 30 different images from the past 25 years in a custom box and I think those of you who like to send a snapshot of our fabulous city in the Holiday Season to friends and family will have fun deciding which one to sent to which person!
As soon as I have the boxes available, I will pop them into the Online store here.
]]>As you will see, the studio is open again to visitors and I am trying to focus on what is left of the year. For those who follow me on Facebook and Insta, you will see I am working on new designs for jigsaw puzzles (which have been extremely popular during the pandemic!) and hoping to launch a line of kitchen textiles starting with a couple of colourful tea towels. I am pondering the 2021 calendar issue, knowing full well that should all the remaining shows (on which my winter sales depend) be cancelled, it will be a challenge to sell my usual quantities of calendars during the relatively small sales window which dated calendars already have. There will definitely be at least one of the calendars available and I am looking at the most cost effective option to produce a limited number of one of the other styles. More news on that soon!
I will be having a big clearance sale on some of my older giclee prints and other items throughout August - so keep an eye out for the bargains - some more than 50% off. For those not able to get to the studio for the sale, do email me and I can send you details of the items on sale.
In the meantime - enjoy your Summer and stay safe!
]]>Last week I had to dash over to the UK unexpectedly as my Mum was quite ill. I spent a few days sitting with her as she, thankfully, recovered from the worst of it. I took the opportunity to do one of my jigsaws, with her direction, and I have to say I found it quite challenging - even though I know these images pretty well now! Anyway, I hope you'll find them both challenging and fun!

Calendars and now in stock ( Search the store under "calendars") I have printed fewer of the small coil-bound calendar this year, to avoid having to throw any away at the end of the year, and even fewer of the Desk Calendar so if you would like one of those two styles, please order as soon as possible, to avoid disappointment !
My first small order of Jigsaw Puzzles was a real revelation - who knew they would sell out in just a month? Anyway, I have placed a larger order for the holiday season, though they will still be very "Limited Edition". I will post the designs and sizes on here as soon as the order arrives, so you can get yours in time for the Holiday Gift Giving Season.
Finally, I am just finishing the final touches on the last of my four new Christmas Card images for this year, so the designs available will be up here shortly, ready for your orders.
Below is a sneak preview of two of the new designs - The Winter Visitors and Jingle All the Way

I realize I have forgotten to update my Website to show where you can find me (other than in my studio) this Summer. As usual I will be at some of the Ladner Farmers Markets, on July 28th, August 25th and September 8th.
You can also find me during the second weekend only of the wonderful Harmony Arts Festival in West Vancouver. The dates are August 9th,10th and 11th and you can find out more information at harmonyarts.ca. Sadly I will only have a small space so might not be able to show all my new work, but I will try to maximise what I am able to display there.
I'm excited that some new custom work I have produced for Capilano Suspension Bridge Park will be on sale there soon and I am now working on some more items which will show off the beauty of the Canyon and the fantastic facilities which have been developed there in recent years.

These days, even though this time of year is usually my busiest, with all the Christmas Show Preparations, I try to get out as much as I can to capture the colours of Vancouver and the surrounding areas - so that I have plenty of inspiration from which to paint. This past week, we have had spectacular weather so I made a point of taking my camera with me and headed to the very top of Grouse Mountain (where sadly, I found much of the distance view dulled by an inversion, but still beautiful), to the Point Grey beaches and then out to Westham Island, Delta, where the farms were heaving with pumpkins and other fall delights. There will definitely be a pumpkin farm painting in next year's calendar - and quite possibly one featuring the Cranberry Harvest too - another truly colourful part of Autumn in the Lower Mainland. You heard it here first!
]]>The 2019 Wall Calendars and Small Coil-Bound Calendars are now in stock at my studio, featuring many brand new paintings which you won't have seen before! Last year, I sold out of the small one in early November and the Wall calendar just before Christmas, so please let me know if you would like to send you one before they are gone!
This year I will also be reprinting the Stand-Up Desk Calendar - due to popular demand. It should be in stock by the end of August, all being well.
All calendars retail for $13.95 each.
]]>It's has been a rather industrious Spring so far - and not in the usual way my Marches and Aprils go. Its been 10 years since I set up on my own in the studio on Granville Island and I decided that things needed sprucing up - as well as furniture relocated in order to accommodate the contents of my ridiculously expensive (think Vancouver real estate costs!) storage locker. Anyway this week should mark the final stage of the "smartening up" of the space and I am really pleased with the way things are looking. You will recognize the colours which have always been a part of my decor, but the flow of the studio and the display options are vastly improved. Come by and say hello!
]]>Many Thanks to all who continue to wait for and then buy my calendars each year. I love hearing your stories about how the calendars fit in exactly the right spot in your homes or of the friend or relative who threatens to ex-communicate you should you forget to send them one each year!
For those who are still looking to get my calendar for 2018, The Vancouver Art gallery Shop still has a few and you may also try 32 Books in Edgemont Village or Chocolate Mousse on Robson Street.
]]>Thanks to everyone who has bought one this year!
I still have a few of the Wall Calendars remaining at the studio, but the supply is dwindling rapidly, so if you need one let me know ASAP!

Huddled here in the studio as the rain beats down outside, It is easy to feel melancholy. Still, when the rain subsides (if only for a short while) I marvel at the amazing colours of Autumn - clinging to the trees and washing along the roads towards clogged drains. Autumn is by far my favourite season - and luckily this year I was able to briefly see it draping the beautiful hillsides of Swaledale, in Yorkshire, where my sister and I took my Mum for a long weekend. We spent our childhood holidays clambering about on those hillsides and splashing in the cold streams and it was an opportunity for me to fill up my creative palette with the greens and golds which seem so different form the colours of the West Coast of BC. I appreciate the beauty of rural England so much more now I have been living on the other side of the world for 30 years!

AND - to encourage you to get your orders in early, from now until September 15th, any calendar orders I receive through my online store, will receive a special gift - of four Greeting cards with envelopes.
]]>Starting on Friday August 4th at 2pm, you can find me in Booth 42 (right next to my good friend Mark Wilkinson of Plunger Cove) at the Art Market on Argyle Avenue.
The festival is always a wonderful mix of wonderful music, food and fabulous art and touch wood, the weather usually cooperates so we can look forward to a sunshine and sea breezes. Hope you can pop by to say hello! More details at :
]]>The show’s theme, “Home:Grown,” will allow me to show paintings which focus on the 30 years of making Vancouver my home, and how all who live here adapt to the city’s constantly changing neighbourhoods. It will also hopefully allow for a wee bit of a look back at some of my earliest pieces, depicting Vancouver in the late '80s and '90s.
More information about the show will be posted here soon!
Because Summer 2017 is looking to be really busy getting ready for the September Exhibition and with Summer Markets I’m afraid I wont be taking any more commissions until October 2017.
